Vanguardia is in constant movement!! Find here our next moves!
Summer Movement and Creation Lab in TO.
Nourish the mind, body and spirit with 3 intensively packed days of movement exploration, training and creativity under the guidance of Vanguardia Dance Projects´ artistic team.
Immerse yourself into the unknown and open the doors to a conversation of artistic disciplines departing from movement; re-discover yourself, get inspired, and recharge your body through the movement vocabulary that emerges. Plant the seed for future art works for visual arts, dance, poetry, and more!
Our sessions will take place in the studio and the different outdoor landscapes around the site.
This intensive Lab is an immersive experience in the unique artistic approach of the internationally renowned awarded artists:
Norma Araiza (Mexico-Canada): she brings a holistic body awareness with a focus on the earthy essence of ritual dance, the search of your animal medicine, and the exploration of land dance using the natural environment as an inspiration for organic movement.
Olga Barrios (Colombia-Canada): her work integrates the precision and intricacy of movement composition in a very organic way, allowing the mover to find their inner ways, with a twist of latin flavours, and getting into conversation with other artistic disciplines.
Diana López (Mexico- Canada): will take you in a journey of unique creative movement research influenced by the instinctive connection between body and
landscape. Drawing from the process of site-specific performance and aerial dance practices to find intention, individuality and integration.
